The picture in the bottom left corner…it looks like he’s riding a mechanical bull. Which could explain why he has the championship belt around his neck. He’s confused as to what event he’s supposed to be doing.

I actually don’t think the art is bad. However, to me it suggests “graphic novel” instead of a traditional novel. If I were looking for a graphic novel, I’d pick this up only to be disappointed. If I wasn’t looking for a graphic novel, I’d think, “Oh, this is a graphic novel. I don’t want that.”
Is the cover giving away the ending? And who wears a championship belt around his NECK?
