Nathan, do you let authors know when they are on here? It would be SO helpful if they saw the comments. An awkward and amateur cover like this makes people avoid the book – no matter WHAT is inside!

The covers you pick are so out of this world that
it would be incredibly interesting to hear what they

This isn’t just lousy, it smacks of lazy. I appreciate the minimalist look as much as the next person, but this is beyond bland. People do buy books based on the cover, as much as they might protest that they don’t.
I’m an author as well (no, really?) and I’m doing my utmost to make it all about the reader, not about me (OK, it is all about me, but you know what I mean). I want the reader to have a good time and to feel good about clicking the buy button.
Well, let’s be honest. With a cover like this there won’t be any readers to disrespect. 😉

My boyfriend Tom ( who just occasionally makes
passing comments when I show him this thread) just said
that this cover looks like a manual for avoiding STD’s.

Are you kidding? There have been enough firestorms when authors have found their books that I don’t go looking for trouble.

I think every writer should visit this site often to see what NOT to do. This cover makes me angry. It shows complete disrespect for your readers.
