Happy New Year, y’all! I’m making a change to how the Lousies are chosen, and this is the perfect day to inflict reveal it!
The previous voting scheme, in which the number of comments was treated as a proxy for cover popularity/infamy, was naturally inexact; plus, it forced anyone who wanted to “vote” to come up with something to say about that cover.
But now, at the bottom of all posts in the “Covers” category, there’s a simple ballot to check:

I’ll include the twelve most voted covers from each month in the quarterly semi-finals.
Let freedom ring!
(Yes, this will show on the older cover posts too — there’s no way to limit to just those going forward.)
Just curious, is this not active yet? I see the field (see attached screenshot) but there is nothing to check. And tapping on it, holding on it, etc. does nothing. BTW: Firefox on an Android, if that makes a difference.
Hmm… As seen on desktop in a Chrome-based browser, this is what you would see.
Time to do some phone-based trouble-shooting. (sigh…)
I just checked, it does work in Chrome on Android. So it’s a Firefox thing.
My problem with Chrome/droid (on a Pixel) is I need to run three (yes, three) ad blockers (one of them subscription) just to make it usable. Whereas one free ad blocker does all the work on fox. Oh, bugger.
The ad blockers might actually be the problem, as it’s a commercial plugin with callouts to a third-party site.
Yep. That’s what I was afraid of. It’s not the first time I’ve run into something like this. In which case I don’t see it as being your problem, but mine.
I just hope it’s not a widespread problem. (You dang Firefox users.)
Okay Nathan, you are correct. If I turn off my ad blocker I can vote. So that’s what I’ll do; turn it off to vote, then turn it right back on after. Sorry to have bothered you. I should have thought to check that first!
No sweat. If the internet were easy, it wouldn’t be… wait, I didn’t have an end to this sentence when I started.
