It’s not an ugly cover, but for a novel about terrorist attacks, zombie outbreaks and a nuclear war?

Solitude: Portraits of the Lonely
And here’s the description: “A story of senior abuse within a family that is all but destroyed when a member is found murdered!” WTF?
Katrina’s Sandcastles: New Hope From The Ruins of New Orleans Schools
I usually don’t think of “hope” as looking so skeptical.
Evolution: What Every Teenager Should Know
Why would a Professor of Biological Sciences and Anthropology plaster his evolution book’s cover with astronomical images?
It seems like a nice little coming-of-age story, except maybe not so nice:
Brittany Hoffman has been through Hell. When she’s finally come to grips with not surviving, her friend Matt Rhodes is kidnapped with her. When the rescue teams remove them, she has a long way to go to heal physically and mentally. It seems like the only friend she has is Matt and he’s in worse shape than she is. Can she handle life after Hell or will her survival be shortlived
It’s a great cover for a book that’s not about “unreasonably angry warlocks,” “slavery and genocide,” and “long-deserted subterranean lairs.” (h/t DED)
It’s a thriller about serial killers and FBI agents. But I’m sure you could already tell.
