This is not only a bad cover but I find the photograph in-your-face offensive. Is that supposed to be some kind of macho “this book’s about shooting and tough guys” imagery? Fail.
Please, aspiring writers, selfies of you and your latest shiny gun are not fit material for book covers. Get the F! over yourself, already!
Is it a conservative or liberal point of view? I can’t tell. The book could be about a conservative defending the oil refinery in the background, or a liberal forbidding access to it. Because the gun would make you think conservative. Is the author going for the stereotype, or against it?
That’s a city, not an oil refinery. But you could be forgiven for thinking that as the photographer picked the cloudiest day to capture it.

That was my first thought, as well. Not sure who had the worse haircut, though…
This cover is awkward. I actually could use “A Novel” on this one because it could very well be a self-important rant!
I find all the pinkness showing through his shirt to be almost as disturbing as his haircut.
Nice job with the blank stare. Nothing gets readers as excited to read a book as seeing that the guy on the cover has all the passion of a cup of flour.
