Bucking the trend on this one. I like the illustration and the color. Nothing wrong with minimalist illustration. The title “script” on the other hand, hand-drawn and running up hill…yuck. How much better would this have been with a artfully typeset title in an elegant but not overly showy font? The title itself makes me want to learn more.

I agree with Sirona. This could have been a great cover were it not for the hand written title.

I agree too. The cursive typeface used for the title is inexcusably bad, and it trashes what could have been a perfectly fine minimalist cover.
Although it also bugs me that the sun mask isn’t circular.
A better font and a slightly larger title would do it for me.

The spark on the top of the ‘S’ implies it’s a trail of gunpowder.
Maybe?!
Nah – it’s an amateur attempt at being cute.
I like the art a lot…which makes it doubly a shame that it’s ruined by the typography.
