What’s with the kerning in the tag line?

Long version. I surmise a small text box was opened in justification mode. As text was inserted, “thought” did not fit or hyphenate, so the first line was automatically justified (word spaces expanded to fit full measure). The last line was newlined, so it fit flush left with default (normal) space width. That shudda been caught before the cover was released to the public and the text box redone as flush left mode not justify mode. Or a forced newline entered before “thought”.

Short version: no one made minimal effort.

What’s with the cheesy High School prop department blue nightdress with lace on it, and what the hell is it SUPPOSED to be? No, wait, that’s not a dress or a nightgown; that fabric is just…nobody in their right mind would wear that. It looks like cheap sofa coverings from hell. And the plotline is…what, this chick is a sleepwalker?

This is simply just AWFUL. More dreadful than usual because the cover elements aren’t dread hard to get BETTER than this.

sheesh.

It’s a fantasy story. Isn’t that what they always wear in fantasy stories?

After reading the description on Amazon, I’m still puzzled. She’s an ordinary modern teenager who stumbles into a way to cross back and forth between dimensions/worlds. But this photo looks solidly set in our world, so why is she wearing her fantasy gear? My guess is it’s an attempt to picture the concept of “in two worlds”.

This does seem like she is reacting to the faux-deep pickups line of the intrusive photographer.
She must be busy, stopping to get some crucial book she needs for post-Halloween test, or perhaps a craft guide for Halloween, as she is already wearing her costume, but haws not done her hair or makeup. That’s why she has that half “What?” and half “How do I get red of the dork as quickly but painlessly as possible?” -expression.
