Funny btw how the ninja shadow has some sort of extensions below his feet? I think it is a ninja shadow puppet.

The extensions lead to the feet of the fox. The shadow of the fox is a ninja. Or the fox is the avatar of ninja.

(Do they have foxes in Japan? Yep, fox (kitsune) is a staple of Japanese folklore, master of transformation, etc.)

yes we all know this, but it is still odd the fox’s shadow is like the shadow of a ninja on stilts.

I kinda like the illustration. The fox is charming even if he is a purse snatcher. The vertical font is a no.
