I can’t figure out how to vote! I feel like I’m trying to punch chads.
Do I vote Dislike for an awful cover, or do I vote Like for your choice of lousy cover?
I’m wondering if the Dislikes are from people who don’t like the cover or from the authors (since there is just one Dislike on a few different covers) who Dislike that it’s on this site.

Maybe I should limit the like/dislike buttons to comments, as that was what the original suggestion referred to.
How about the like/dislike button on the original post only pertains to your original comment not the cover.
Maybe. (Though if you had a rate-this-cover-on-a-scale-of… button, that may be interesting, too.)
