Maybe it is something from a coloring book over an image with real grass?
I am more amazed every day after seeing the covers. I question where these authors get the image and why they think it will sell a book.

Overall, I actually like the style. But is the girl a zombie? Her hands make her seem lifeless, and her face makes her seem like she’s sleeping. I guess that’s why the horse looks confused.

Not only they seem to be coming from nowhere, but are also reversed.
Because everyone knows it’s hard to draw grass.
