Squished aspect ratio does not make the moon or face effective.
I agree the painted on “blood” does look like a rubber safety guard. Geez. How expensive is kayo syrup and red food dye? Cheap, cheap. OTOH, a crazed killer who forgot to remove the safety guard from his ax or chainsaw would make an entertaining story subject.
Actually, an axe with a safety guard in place would still be a deadly weapon: a big lump of steel on the end of a long wooden shaft. It would probably even still cut you if swung with enough force.
Nice rubber safety stopper on the axe. Wouldn’t want any of the five people who wrote the 1370 word story (that’s 274 each) to injure themselves.
