BTW, I ASSumed–rather incorrectly–that these covers were from books that were like $2 or $3 but this paperback sells for $16.95(!) making it even sadder. why put so much time and effort into the writing then slap a cheaply designed cover on it?!

Unfortunately, I don’t think that was “slapped” — it was meticulously and lovingly made by someone who didn’t know what he/she was doing.
