When people really have blue blood, it needs more oxygen. Is that what happened here?
I always feel a little guilty making fun of covers with bad art. After all, I’m not a good artist either. I can’t draw and am a distinctly amateur painter.
But I feel no guilt with something like this. Someone gave you a lovely piece of art, and you did THAT to it? I’m sorry, but there can be no mercy here.
Now I’m wanting to see the art sans text. I’d like to enjoy something well done.
Eh, it’s not really a Cargo Cult template, but I’ve noticed a number of book covers on Amazon get ruined in just this way: the writers trust that if Amazon’s cover-designing program starts with the typeset for the title and byline a certain size, then filling the cover (and consequently paving over the artwork) with the title and byline at that size must just be a dandy design method.
