I checked the blurb, and no, this is in fact not a story of how Ava befriended a Lovecraftian horror that popped out of the ground while the thread from the Pern books was falling.
Is it a book about how Ava collects decorative plates with images of a Lovecraftian horror popping out of the ground while the thread from the Pern books falls, and hangs them on the wall of her guest bath?

I was going to make a comment about the clock, but realized that finding 10 out of 12 isn’t really all that bad.
