That cartridge appears to be a 7.62x39mm Russian a very late development (1945) not exactly an apt symbol for the Norwegian Campaign.

Actually some of the most exciting stories of WWII were located in Norway.
The defense of Oslo from invasion including a German heavy cruiser sunk.
The raid on a heavy water plant at Telemark that delayed the German atomic weapon program.
British Commandos and Norwegian resistance fighting the German occupiers in daring raids.
Norway in WWII was pure excitement.

My grand uncle, in Norway, happened to look a great deal like the German Commander in his region. I heard some humorous and horrifying tales from him. I wish that he’d written a book.
