y’know, there’s the very barest smidgeon of an idea here. If the mechanical/automaton angle of the robot/droid/? eyes had been developed; this coulda had legs. Allowed the reader to get his arms around it…

I feel like this cover could be made significantly more interesting with a couple of the D&D beholders.
