The hubris is strong with this one.
This one too… a bit of a shame. This author has The Blarney, (the raw talent and imagination), you can tell by reading the LITB. BUT, he has the usual new-author errors, lots of tell, not enough show, over-describing. But there is definitely a kernel of possible talent there, IF he works on it. And by that I mean, finds a good writing course, critique/writing group and learns what he’s doing wrong, so that his characters can leap off the page at you, instead of kind of…just being there.
And the cover, while not the most fantastic thing you’ve ever seen, isn’t terrible either.
A missed opportunity, I’d say, for this writer’s maiden voyage.
