BLURB: Little Ruby

The main character in this story is Ruby, a little red turtle. He is exceptionally curious. Because of this character trait, Ruby enters into a new experience in life, and learns something new as a result. In this story little Ruby wishes to fly in the sky among the clouds. In the end he realizes something even more wonderful. This book consists of twelve paintings (illustrations.) My aim in filling each page with vibrant artwork is to support children to develop their appreciation of the beauty of art with a grand palette of colors. If Ruby’s gained wisdom is shared with the young readers, then it will be an extra bonus. More stories of little Ruby will come out in a series of books. I hope each one will give readers as much joy as they have brought to me in creating them.

“Book description” is not the same thing as “artist statement.”

Here’s a subtle and effective artist statement by an ACTUAL artist:

I’m glad to see that the author clarified the word “paintings.”
