It’s a shame. The underlying artwork isn’t horrible. Not appropriate for a cover–too busy. But not horrible. But slapping all that limned text on it is a huge mistake. Too bad.

…Not to mention that the blurb says this is London “of the late 1800s” yet the picture clearly features a plastic traffic bollard in the middle of the shot (plus a car at the edge of frame and masses of electric light). Oy.
