The Cartographer 1492

It would be a good cover for an audience that had never seen fire before.

I know the cross itself is not on fire but the first thought that came to my head when I saw this was the KKK.

Now that I know that the book is about the Spanish Inquisition … well, they are not much better.

Looks like “Partographer”… And what’s with the tiny bookcover beside the credential? Real book covers don’t have that.

There’s not enough of a distinction between sea and sky. Those ships look like they’re floating.

Uh, floating in the AIR, I mean.

Please… How does this cover even make sense when there’s artwork all over the internet to choose from? Like a painting of Spanish ships or something? Or an old-fashioned map?

And where did the yellow font came from? It doesn’t fit with anything!

It looks like four black smoke birds spitting fire to me…and some little ships floating halfway up the mountain.

At first glance, I thought this was about an expedition to Easter Island.

This is about the Spanish Inquisition? Nothing on this cover conveys that at all, I thought it was about exploring.
