I’m all for subtlety, but at thumbnail size you can barely tell that there are words here at all.

I can hardly read this.
“I can hardly read this.”
That’s a blessing, IMHO!
Are they going for a bible look-alike, with the texture and color? Gold colored type would be better and more readable.
Yes, gold text. And larger.
And the leather should look worn.
Here’s a good example:

Yes! Doesn’t need to be as elaborate, but the color of the text is right.
I like the textured-gray leather cover bit, and the bat-shaped thingie in red and subtle is very cool. Can’t get down with the red type, though, and the way the font is kerned is problematic at any size.
Personally, I like the font, it just needs to be larger and brighter. All I can see when I look at the logo is a Zubat on fire, though.
I didn’t know Batman had an evil twin.
Can someone find the center of this image for me? Maybe it is centered, and the big flaming-red porno mustache is just so intimidating that I am having trouble concentrating.
Hello all, I’m the author of Devil Ash Deceit, Mitchell Olson. Allow me to explain the crappy photoshop cover I whipped up, since this website loves talking about them so much.
Basically, the book was finished before the cover art was. Since I had said I planned to release the book in December, I wanted to keep my word and get the book out then. I had been working with an artist, but unfortunately she couldn’t complete the job by December, so I made the decision to post my book early with this cover knowing full-well I’d be replacing it soon. Luckily, this cover was only online for about 3 months, and now I’m very proud to reveal the REAL cover, which you can all see by following this link:

Much, much better! Bravo!
