I can only assume that either the author thinks it’s a cute idea, or, lord, she knows someone who has their name spelt that way. Unfortunately, we seem to have an entire generation of parents that don’t know how to spell, or don’t think that burdening their offspring with names that appear illiterate isn’t just the BEST idea. I admit it–if a “Maxcine” interviewed with me, my instant assumption would be that she thought it was cool or cute to call herself that…and I probably wouldn’t consider her for hiring. I know, I know…crochety.

…most people get their names from their parents. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.
