The whole point is a close-up of the hand gripping the pistol pointed at the viewer, but it’s so horribly and incompetently drawn, that it’s distracting and weird.

Shame about the cover. The book itself is actually pretty good.

WHY is it so hard to tell when a painting or drawing is bad? Is it some sort of specific disorder? For your first evening art class, OK, there’s definitely a lot to work with, but why would you even want people to see that, outside of your closest and most visually impaired friends? Two people have looked at that – unless the writer and painter are the same person – and said, Never mind the billion free stock images of pirates and sailors that are out there, we want this one?
