#Foamish! (Faux Amish, for those who aren’t au fait with the LBC vernacular and tags) PURPLE, with a blue headpiece? AAAGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Thank God the RAMISH (Real Amish) don’t see these cursed things. I hope that these “Amish Romance” or whatever authors aren’t putting the damned things in print…those could migrate into Amish hands.

“Maybe she’s born with it…maybe it’s foamish!”

I don’t know how the real Amish would feel about these covers, but they might very well be amused. I wonder if they would get the same chuckle out of reading “Amish romance” as I do out of reading British mystery writers who think that California movie stars would obviously know everyone of importance in Chicago.

Good question! Hell, next time I’m near Lancaster, PA (which I probably won’t be, ever again), I’ll pick up some #Foamish books and drop them off at the local libray. Altho…I wonder if #RAMISH ladies (are allowed to) borrow “Englischer” books from the public library? …interesting to contemplate that LBC has become a hotspot of social commentary. Ha!

(Am I the only one that finds it ironic that with all the SJW “cultural appropriation” brouhaha going on, nobody seems to say a word about the #FOAMISH being appropriated? Why is that?)

“My family was distant growing up.”

“How distant were they?”

“So distant that we had to use more cut-and-paste on our family photo than a self-published Amish romance cover.”

Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ll keep my day job.

So Amish women now wear makeup and badly-fitting hats?

I live in a Mennonite community in the summer (the Amish broke off from the Mennonites because they felt the Mennonites weren’t strict enough) and can tell you that some of these romances do end up on the shelves of the Mennonite-run charity shop. From what I’ve seen, though, they’re much higher quality. (Although they’re on a shelf of used books, so they’re not seen as re-readable, I’d guess? I’d have to ask.)
