Upon examination at high res, this moon image is approxinately 342 x 299 pixels, or 14.4% squished.
This appears to me to be the effect of the moon bouncing off the title, which explains the wolf’s stare.
It would immensely help understanding this cover if a sound effect ¡BONK! had been pasted between the bottom of the moon and the top of the title.
(If you get the impression that squished moons are to me as wire hangers were to Joan Crawford, you are highly perceptive.)
