It looks like they put a fair bit of effort into designing the typeface and arrangement of ‘consolation prize’. And then they realised they were out of time/money, and just used anything for the rest.

As usual, it seems somewhat morbid to dwell on the deaths of the year without also recognizing the births of the same year… but with extremely few exceptions (I’m a grandfather now!), we don’t know which of the millions who came into the world this year will be familiar to us by the end of...
