Actually many a Roman Solider converted…the reason why Constantine made it the official religion…it’s best you critique the cover, not the history as your obviously are illiterate when it comes to basic history…
you need to read the story misinformed…your trying to tell the story based on a cover? lol….let me guess, you see a cardboard box and with your psychic powers you can see in the box? LOL
“Early Church”= Pre-Constantine. It was still a minority religion when Constantine made it official and was not out of the woods yet in terms of persecution. In any event Constantine didn’t actually convert until he was on his death bead.
And it still doesn’t answer the question of why a divine being who supposedly represents good is wearing the military uniform of what was, even after it was Christianised, a pretty brutal empire.
So many heads, so many faces…so many layers! What a mash-up. Not the least bit angelic or enticing. And considering angel tropes, this must be a dark angel, hence evil, cuz those are black feathers–or at least that’s what is suggested. It’s a fail when the visual elements provide ambiguity on top of conflicting messages overlaid with detached heads…and a horse.
Is horse the new wolf?

Humans have chest hair*, angels have random stock photos of blonde people. Good to know.
Why would an angel dress like a Roman soldier? Weren’t they the bad guys for most of the history of the early church?

Actually – Constantine was born 300 years after Christ, so the previous comment IS basic history.
(And it’s “you’re obviously” not “your obviously”…)

No, Yo. As we’ve explained to you (obviously not in small enough words), we’re assessing the COVERS themselves. Please try to keep up.
