Why the need to make things transparent? Are the trees so important that they must be visible even through people?

With the amount of see-through stuff on this cover, it smacks of a commercial for the “Victor’s Secret” TV special.

Okay, I have an honest question. I get why many of the transparencies on this site really truly don’t work. Is there such a thing as one that does look good?
I sold a cover recently that had red gem hearts on top of lace. I applied transparency so you could see the lace through them, like you might expect. As for transparent people? Only reason would be if they’re ghosts. I don’t think the two on this cover are ghosts!

So much is wrong here. Photobombing face. See-through people. Impossible wing placement. Wimpy sword (and wimpy arms). *sigh*
