On my copy of Monty Python’s collection of TV scripts, it says, in a nice sunburst, “WINNER of the Python Prize for their own books.” Just sayin’

The “Award Winning Novel” star really bothers me the most, as it’s such an obvious ploy. When you read the fine print buried on page 5, it’s actually an award given out by a local writing group in Texas.

*and I’m guessing it was the only entry… 😉

Well, uh, wouldn’t that make it the runner up?

Just not sure of the subject matter of the book. Religious of some kind, but that covers a lot of territory. Fiction/non fiction, children, inspirational, what? The illustration is kind of nice, but it doesn’t tell me anything much about what’s in the book. Oh and the award sticker just confuses things more. Award for…? I’m with everyone else–please leave these off the cover, even if its for a Nobel prize. Put it with the blurb.

Oooo, there’s heart! I figured it out–this is a ROMANCE novel! Woot!

And here I thought it was an 80s novel about sports. Silly me.

I am wondering exactly what kind of awards this cover has supposedly won.
