Well, I guess I’m just thinking of the overall composition. Not trying to diss romance, just not as knowledgeable about ship design. And compared to most of the werewolf covers we’ve seen, the lion was relatively well-done. IMHO as usual.
So close. As a Viking romance cover, this author almost nailed it. Take out the lion, undo the head fade on the characters, make the author and title ‘better’, and this cover wouldn’t belong on this site. Too bad.

Since Vikings traded with Byzantium, some of them might have come across silk, still not exactly keeping with the era.

History: research it before you design a cover for a period piece. Unless viking is a metaphor or something.
