My Game: The switch

It’s so boring, I can’t even work up the passion to dislike it.

Salt water for fresh?

Couldn’t even get the title to line up.

The water looks inviting though.

I find that not-lined-up title very irritating. Just how hard would it be to fix that? šŸ™

And what’s the surf photo got to do with the book’s subject or genre? I’m compltely clueless here.

Heck, I don’t think it’s boring at all. I think it’s a masterpiece of minimalist ineptitude. So few elements — and they’re still all in the wrong place.

Meanwhile, verbatim from the book description:

‘the more closely he thought he was to the truth the more he got confused by the facts he gathered’.

And from the book’s only review — five stars, from the book’s editor:

‘I was completely surprised at how this story surprised me’.

See? The whole package is vastly entertaining. You just have to appreciate it in the right way.

I think we need a new category: WHAT’S IT ABOUT? I see no games or switches.

Also, speaking as a proofreader, the lower-case “switch” is driving me batty.

Look, way off on the horizon. There’s a ship. THAT’S where the game switch is.

The covers that try to cram all the elements of a story at once into the illustration at least gives you something to look at.
