Is the girl supposed to be standing up or lying down? This is so distressingly ambiguous it’s almost an accidental Escher.
OK, here’s my question–how do they KNOW that the dolphin’s name is Laurel, anyway?
You made me look inside. Laurel is the girl. Since cetaceans like the porpoise and oceanic dolphin communicate by whistles and clicks, Laurel obviously understands the cetacean equivalent of Morse Code.
Or she is a typical human speciesist and imposed on the innocent porpoise a name of her preference.
Because perspective is too main stream.
Dolphins have horizontal flukes, not vertical fins. What madness is this?
