You mean that there’s another trilogy before this? Something feels familiar about this author–didn’t we see the “Murder in Mayberry” book cover here before? https://www.amazon.com/Murder-Mayberry-Revisited-Hidden-Murders-ebook/dp/B006TRJTN2/ ?
Mother of God, “Sheriff Taylor” is in that book. (Anyone else feeling some copyright infringement here…???)
If Einstein is played by Don Knotts, I would be interested.
I just want to know how folks like this get the permissions, to use existing characters and places and storylines. It boggles me, it does. Somehow, I just can’t see CBS granting someone the (free?) right to use Sheriff Andy Taylor, Mayberry, and so on.
My guess is that they didn’t ask, so nobody said no. There’s some rather un-Mayberry-like language in that book you linked. I’d imagine that the rules of an official license might prohibit that sort of thing.
At any rate, when I read “Sheriff Taylor” up at the top, I pictured Dub Taylor!
Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeze. Poor Sheriff Andy! And Depity Barney. Old Floyd at the barbershop. (I think that’s right).
