I hope this just means the author’s primary language isn’t English, because if it is…!

Thank you, author of “What If”. Since you told me the entire story in your description, I no longer have to read your book. Truly, you are an inspiration.

Plus the cover makes me think, “what if she listened to other people confessing their sins.”

Did the author just give away the whole plot where you’re supposed to put a summary? Does he realise no one’s going to want to read his book now that he spoiled everything? (Not the cover is particularly enticing either.) SMH.

It would be funny if that description was actually the complete novel.

Wait, wait wait… She’s a drug addict at ten, then an nurse, then kidnapped, raped, sold into prostitution, escaped, married a drug addict doctor running a drug addict clinic, after whose death she continues running the clinic, and the words “What If” were established???. “What if” as a punchline to all that has as much sense as “Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake”. I mean, What If what? What if her brothers weren’t idiots? What if she wasn’t sold into prostitution? What if she hadn’t married the addict doctor? What’s the meaning of What If?

On a more interesting news, the book is only 92 pages long. That’s around 23k words, if my estimation is correct. So all of this happens in 23k words.

“Hurry up, woman, it’s time for you to get kidnapped.”

“But I haven’t even given this poor crippled rich young man his first injection yet!”

“No time for that, prostitution awaits.”

“Prostitution?”

“Don’t worry, you’ll be out of there in a second. We need to get you to your doctor so we can make a non-sequitur punchline.”

About the Author
I’m 72 years old. Married. Have three grown children. I’m retired from being a CNC Machining Programmer after working 48 years for I presently live in San Diego California

Now I feel bad for making fun of the elderly.

The woman on the cover is either obscuring someone or she had someone else’s right hand grafted onto her.

In that rather spoileriffic summary, I notice the author makes an enormous number of repetitive references to drug addiction; sounds like a significant portion of this story probably takes place in the 1980s. If the author’s broken English isn’t due to being a foreigner, some (shall we say) “hands-on experience” with the subject matter might explain a few things.

Hoooo, baby, Donde esta la telenovela?

I mean, really? How can this be anything else? My theory is that this is a screen treatment, for a telenovela pitch.
