The story is set in Florida instead of the typical zombie story set in a dark and dirty city, and the story itself is really good. Different from most zombie stories. This is one you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s (lousy) cover.
And we try not to, honest. But the problem is that publishers WANT readers to judge a book by its cover (when it’s good) — or at least assume that the cover is fair indication of what’s between the covers.

Then the author should spend $35 (or more) and buy a decent cover.
I’ve read Armando’s work, even did a guest blog on his website this year, but I wouldn’t think twice about ignoring this one based on the cover.
