Goodreads lists 13 editions of this published since 2009 by 5 different presses, including MacMillan. Pretty good, given that the author has been dead for 97 years. I had no idea there was so much interest in elephant hunting. Oh, and this cover is from the MacMillan Co. edition. I guess it’s not just us indies making lousy book covers these days!
Several sites have advertised free downloads of this title. The Amazon listing for Chauncy Hugh Stigand Hunting the Elephant in Africa, and Other Recollections of Thirteen Years’ Wanderings (1913) Kindle Edition asks 99 cents for the Kindle.
I scroll down and see this: About the Author
In addition to his political accomplishments, Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), the twenty-sixth president of the United States, is known for his achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, soldier, and author.
It is a slip-up like this that makes me wonder if someone is posting free public domain finds from TR and Stigand to make money.

Based on the author’s signature, I’d say he was a pea green 1949 four-door hardtop with a 6 cylinder flathead and a rumble seat.

Did manage to get the author’s name all in the same font. So there’s that.
