When I saw the link title, I thought it was Nathan exclaiming that he couldn’t keep up with all of the lousy book cover submissions. 😉

Really? I made lousybookcovers.com? Wow, I’m honoured! I’d like to thank my agent….

Seriously though, when you look at the other covers posted on the site is mine really ‘lousy’?

C’mon….

You’re actually not that far short of the mark Nathan. It’s about explaining these ‘newfangled computing terms’ to the parents who didn’t grow up in the always connected online world that their kids are taking for granted and think that they ‘get’ what their kids are doing online because they use Facebook and shop on Ebay.

You only have to look at the number of parents who didn’t have a clue what ‘ask.fm’ was before kids started taking their own lives because of what they experienced on the site to understand my target market.

My kudos as well for your sane response to ending up on this site.

I thought the cover made it here not because it’s unintentionally (or maybe intentionally) hilarious. To me, it looked like she was trying to beat up the internet with her laptop. Unfortunately, she’s now stuck in a quagmire of computing terms with no hope of peace with honour.

Good luck with your book regardless of covers!

Thanks Victoria,

Again, you’re not so short of the mark. She’s a parent who ‘can’t keep up’ with her kids on the Internet and is throwing the laptop on the floor in utter frustration. And yes, she’s stuck in a quagmire of internet related terms with no hope. Hence the book.

Bearing in mind your response, and Nathan’s, it seems like I actually got the cover pretty much spot on!
