Werewolves are… undead?

Nah, Waffs, but jeeeeze, bro, it’s alliterative! *UN*dead *UN*it. Get it?

My first thought on seeing this was “coming soon in crappy C-Movie quality to a cheap cable channel near you.” It’s just like a Made-for-Lifetime crappy movie, but better…it’s Made-for-DEADtime. (Or would that be made for UNDEAD-time? Hmph.)

I will answer with my standard Werewolves vs Vampires comment.

I am sick of Vampires vs Werewolves.

Why don’t people examine the other Undead vs Werecreature blood feuds? Where are the:

– Weretigers vs Ghosts (Werepumas also hate ghosts)
– Werebears vs Mummies (For obvious reasons)
– Wererats vs Zombies (Its the whole plague thing)
– Wereboars vs Liches (Because of Extract M)
– Weredolphins vs Vampires (But for different reasons than why Werewolves hate vampires)

and of course, famously,
Wereeagles vs Skeletons. (So much hatred there to explore!)

Man, I have a whole riff that I could launch on this, but…it’s not safe for Family viewing. MWAH. So, onto my next riff:

Werehair versus VampFires. Because while Vampfires love, love, love, WereHair for fuel, WereHairs are notoriously reluctant to burn, baby burn.

I don’t foresee those two working in the PUU. Yes, folks, that’s right–the Police Undead Unit. You’d call them Deadites, but then Sam Raimi might get pissy about it.

Is there a gigantic eye behind everything else?

Or maybe it’s in front of everything else. I can’t tell anymore.

“In a world…” I can’t read the cover without reading it in a rich male baritone like it was preview in a movie theater. Which sucks because I am a tenor and a horrible one at that.

Fang and Claw, hey don’t werewolves have both of those?

The rest of this day I’ll hear Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones intoning in my mind’s ear: “In a world where supernatural beings are accepted by society…”

Maybe you should actually read the book and not just look at the cover. I looked at some awards for best book covers of 2015, oh hang on you lot may have voted for them…oopps They were all crap. The story covers different supernatural creatures and is an enjoyable read. Your loss though.

As a commenter, I would say this: my review at Amazon would based on reading the book or at least the Look Inside! sample which is often the first chapter of a novel. At LBC I ask myself As someone browsing for a book to buy, would this cover sell this book to me?

Judging by the cover, there is nothing obviously werewolf or vampire in those two. The two natural enemies in the Dallas PD Undead Unit could be brunettes v blondes or men v women for all I can tell. Maybe the guy does not want to be distracted by feeling he has to be protective of his gal partner as they go after werewolves and vampires (until that dramatic situation where she saves his bacon).

It’s a shame there’s no flying red Pegasus on top of the building.
