And . . . ellipses in quotes always intrigue me . . . I can’t help but wonder if D. Donovan (I think that’s his name – I can barely read it for the wrecked font) didn’t write something like:
The prose is flat and uninspired. Mr. Marks may have been been trying to convey a sense of non-stop staccato action, but his manuscript is far off the mark. Instead, he ends up with a huge gobbledy-gook of horrible run-on sentences and 1-dimensional characters.
