retro? …are they using retro to mean historical? or are they using it as a euphemism for “anachronism stew” (when the writer wants to write a story in a historical setting without doing any research)?
I’ve been thinking about your blog recently because of discussions of AI art. Generating covers for two-bit small publishers and writers going it alone might be one small niche where it’s beneficial, in which case you’d either be out of a blog, or your blog might turn to showcasing book covers featuring polydactyls with supernumerary nipples. Looking at this and your other recent offerings, it seems AI has yet to be discovered. 🙂
And AI can still only provide something for humans to then use competently. We have enough examples of good stock art which has been subjected to horrendous fonts, layout, etc. to warrant optimism in the future of LBC.
yup. Also that pilates cover was AI — discovering AI didn’t help that author in the slightest, lol
The hands are bad, but what stands out to me is the head. Is this guy (or gal, I can’t tell) a Conehead or something?
