I love this writer’s work, excellent weird horror stories. He’s got a strong following in the indie horror community. But yes, the covers are bizarrely offputting. I think intentionally so.
No, not very nearly awe. Not even in the general vicinity of awe. I’m pretty sure that this is all horror.
This looks like a candidate for the do you even English tag as well.
That’s perfectly serviceable English. On the right cover, that title would work very well.

Given that I am exactly his target audience, I can definitely say that this intent is a FAIL.
It’s not awe, it’s ugh.
