The voices of the people will not be silenced!
Here’s how it works:
On each of the next twelve days, I’ll post a ballot of one month’s worth of posted covers. You may pick UP TO THREE as the worst on each month for qualifying status. (Just to keep the number of options down, I’m limiting it to covers which received at least three comments from people other than me.) All ballots will remain open until January 15th.
On January 16th, I’ll post Round Two, bringing those covers from each ballot together in one final ballot.
And on January 31st, I’ll post the ten worst covers posted in 2022!
The way I make my three selections: first look for the covers on which something is obviously egregiously wrong (e.g. the cover’s upside down, it’s just a picture with no text of any kind, somebody’s thong-clad grotesquely obese keister is right in your face, etc.) with them. Then, if I’m not seeing anything like that, look for cases where it looks like somebody or something barfed on the cover. For July, all three of my selections were the latter method: somebody drank paint/ate a series of cover design templates and then BLAAARGH!!!
I’m still struggling to choose my 3 for May. Too many choices!
