Theyyam is a form of ritual dance performed as a sort of ancestor worship in parts of India. I’m sure the cover image would seem perfectly familiar to one who grew up in Karnataka.
But, yeah… that’s a sloppy cover design, and the title/description hints that attempts to read the book therein would be as frustrating as… riding a tiger.
