Magnus Maximus 30: Raid on the Thames

Magnus Maximus 30: Raid on the Thames

Yup, thirty of these historical action novels, and most of the covers show the same level of action and historicity.

Ol’ Magnus Maximus isn’t exactly subtle about his phallic symbolism, is he? Is his wife named Maximus Buttox?

I thought “historical novel” must be a stretch, but no. The series is about a Roman commander in the 4th century AD.

For extra fun, I did a TinEye search on the cover. This building isn’t even one of London’s skyscrapers. It’s in Songdo Central Park, Korea.
