The first thing my eye hits, even before the poorly drawn cat, is the name (?); Bigotes’. Spin it, explain it, or try to pronounce it however you want, the root my eye catches on is still “bigot”. An unfortunate choice on a book cover, unless that is what is intended. But I can’t believe that is the case for a book aimed at preschool-age children.
It is clearly John Bigbootie from Buckaroo Banzai, trying to escape enemies of the Red Lectroids with a name change. But it is known the Lectroids are really poor in the disguise department.
Harrington whatsits, that font. Damned thing. Why do people DO this with kids’ books? I have one in right now, with handwriting/foofy font for little kids. I do NOT get it. Perhaps they simply don’t have kids, have never seen kids or the like. Perhaps they think that kids are alien creatures from another universe. (sigh).
Kids’ books by people who have never been around kids. Book covers by people who have apparently never seen a book cover. All in a day’s work here at LBC.
Or maybe they just don’t like kids.

Another amazing “what I learned on LBC today” factish thingie: “Bigotes”, according the The Google, is Spanish for “whiskers.”
Therefore, we can safely assume that since “Whiskers” is plural in the title, that it is actually Bigotes’s whiskers that are doing the dreaming.

I have an absolutely pathetic love for that movie!
