As Admiral Kirk would shout: HANS!!!!! (Giger)
From the author: “…The easy part is writing the novel, the hardest part is getting your work noticed.”
In both cases, especially when you put so little effort into those 34 pages. How do you read actual books and still not see the flaws in your own? Even if you can’t write it should be a no-brainer to make it look like a book.

Dude, Giger was nowhere near this doozy.

Except for his stolen work in the corner.

I just love it when the designer is so proud of their cover that they make sure they get credit for it in the book.

Oh…and the cover designer is…”Art Painter.”

cover artist was also “Art Painter”
I did a Google search, because it sounded like it might be some kind of software, but couldn’t find anything

Comparing the two, they’re both by “KDP” with near identical copyright pages, so maybe “Art Painter” is a default designation KDP uses when the author doesn’t specify a cover designer?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. KDP/Amazon has zero interest in the identification of cover designers and moreover, KDP expressly tells authors that books are NOT published by KDP or Amazon and there should be nothing whatsoever inside a published book that says or claims that.

Is “Art Painter” that Corel program?

Painter is one of those “occupational family names” (like “Smith”). Arthur Painter is a modern descendant of a family who earned their medieval cognomen painting stained glass windows for churches.

[channeling the spirit of HP Lovecraft’s article on “Ibid” detailing the history of the ancient scholar Ibidus cited more frequently than any other source]

I was wondering if that was the Alan Smithee of cover designing, indeed! I can’t blame him/her, if it is.

that makes sense.

I was just guessing from the front matter. Maybe it’s a default on whatever formatting program the authors are using? “Art Painter” def sounds more like some kind of default than a real person (and if it’s a program/app, it’s incredibly obscure)
