I need so much more of this rich, chaotic lore. I crave more news about this phenomena that hit blogs everywhere! More, Nathan, more! It’s like a TLC show that I just can’t look away from.
Speaking of clinically-diagnosed masochists…who would willingly engage with the Norman Boutin saga at this level? Oy, vey, as they say.
Just know that Norman would probably trash this poor person trying to give that cover a face lift. We know how he takes any kind of fan response or reaction. We know and, hopefully, TLC sees.
Well, what is it, 7 years now? Since ET (“Empress Theresa”) was published? Maybe he’s mellowed. If he can survive the TV tropes page about it….meh.
Some of her efforts are pretty bad–after all, she only spent 3 days making the 100, so, fair ’nuff–but ANY of them are better than the one he had, last time I looked.
You have to wonder if Normal will notice that throughout her 100 covers, it’s his name, not the book title, that takes the most prominence. Hmmmm..Watson, I think that’s a clue!
I think he still likes his book…
Now that you mention it, I am seeing his name be the front and center. You’re right about most of them being really off the mark. I think – regardless of how many years past – the fight will never be given up. He will still show up when you least expect him to defend his work relentlessly. Gotta give points for dedication.
Well, if, as a writer, you’re going to have Troos–Troo Believers–I guess the least you can do is be at the front of the pack, leading the parade. No matter how godawfully-bad the book.
…No. No, you don’t.
“Hi, I’m Dana. I’m an American living in rural Bavaria. I love art, design, vintage goods, healthy living, and weirdo fringe stuff.”
It certainly checks the weirdo-fringe-stuff box.
