Never let it be said that I don’t reward even the slightest effort… which is why some of the incremental changes featured in this installment of New Covers For Old 2021 are almost negligible.

My fav here is “So What! Stories or Whatever!” that shifted from busy-and-yet-passable-if-intoxicated-enough to straight-up roadkill. I also like how the “World Keeper” changed everything yet retained the most important thing – the purple shirt. On the PosRein note, I really like th’ new “Not Quite Eden”.
World Keeper‘s first cover had a great concept. It’s sad the author couldn’t hire an (good) artist to make it better. Second cover is good but generic.
So, did Sean Penn have a career, before making it in movies, of posing for book covers? With a faux body attached? Reckless Highlander looks like Penn on a bad day, no?
Love for Sail—nope (and, again, being better than an old cover doesn’t make the new one good)
Reckless—Reckless use of typefaces (and…just what is he doing?)
Jake’s Take—Nifty image…but what in the world does it have to do with the book described? Also some missteps in the typography.
Fake Messiah—save me.
So What!—my feelings exactly
Not Quite Eden—I really like this even if I am not too sure what it is telling me about the book
Crow Girl—this might have worked if it were even remotely clear what the image depicted. I had to go to the sample pages to see the cover large enough to find that the girl has wings
World Keeper—not too bad at all
Isis Wept—yet again a nice enough image (even if the idea is better than the execution) shot down by inept design and typography
Coral Sea Tales—I will never understand how sailing ships work under water
