Though do I lose my LBC cred if I admit that I don’t actually think this cover is that bad? I’ve seen professional covers with art that’s worse than this.
I gotta agree, technically, the art on this cover is pretty good. The major problem I see is that the characters aren’t interacting in any way and just seem to be standing there for an awkward group portrait.

At first glance it doesn’t look bad, but the devil is in the details…
With this cover, I think we have a situation of “the art is good, but not professional book cover good.”
