My first thought upon seeing that angel was less “guardian” and more, “You know, Satan was an angel too…”

I think you just got all you can out of it, just by reading the sub-sub-sub-genre.
This would have been a more appropriate cover for ‘Guardian Chimp,” ‘cuz, that’s what that angel looks like.
